Just Hit Send

As I walk through our offices, everyone’s fingers are flying over a keyboard at a feverish pace, and I feel relaxed. Are they all reading those messages carefully before they push the “send” button? Boy, I sure hope not.  A huge loss of productivity will occur if they read every detail.  I don’t want to employ a bunch of professional wordsmiths.  I want people to act, think, deliver, blink.  Don’t make sure that the subject line clearly expresses the purpose of the message? Just hit SEND and be done with it.  Too many people (especially in the work place are too sensitive).  At times, it is good to email when you are angry.  People need to know that you mean business.  Stop “treading lightly” with your words.  Take a stand and be strong once and for all.  If your message hurts someone’s feelings, so what.  If there is work to do then do it.  Feelings should be put aside in the work place.  Stop wasting time proofing emails for “tone”.  If you want to get ahead, be productive.  Email is only a tool that can increase productivity if you use it swiftly.  Just hit send.
