Left Hand Grabbing Things!
Recently my left hand has decided to act on its own. Yesterday I adjusted the thermostat with my left hand without realizing it. Three days ago, at an all you can eat mexican buffet, my left hand unknowingly grabbed a chair and pulled it along as I walked to the bathroom. I was able to release the chair when my buddy asked me to open my hand. Why has my left hand developed a mind of it’s own? Hold me! I now have a tendency to reach and clutch onto objects with my left hand, such as the telephone cord or the remote control for the television, and growing unable to release despite verbal commands. Five minutes ago I grabbed my comb to fix my hair, but my hair looked fine. For a while it was kind of funny and I honestly enjoyed it. It was kind of a nice surprise to look down and see that I was holding something of interest in my left hand when I didn’t even know that I had grabbed it up. I now get excited to see what I will grab up. In fact, I was not concerned at all until I read about alien hand syndrome. This is a syndrome where a hand takes on a mind of its own. The hand decides to behave irrationally and differently than the uninfected hand. Do you think this could be what I have? If so, should I be concerned or just play along with the hand? I am afraid my left hand may grab something sharp like a knife and I may run and fall with it and cut myself.
